Having trouble starting a 2011 grand Cherokee. Engine

Customer Question

Having trouble starting a 2011 grand Cherokee. Engine throttle control light keeps coming on. It will start but takes several tries. How do you cycle the ignition key?
JA: Just to clarify, what are the exact lights you're talking about?
Customer: etc & mil lights
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: It has been starting so I haven't gone to a shop yet, almost forgot that it told me my key battery was low so I switched to extra key but still hard to start
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: Its a 2011 but only has 42000 miles and has been well maintained

Good evening and welcome to JustAnswer!!

My name is ***** ***** I have worked for a Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep dealership for 19 years and I will do my best to help.

In order to repair your vehicle you will first need to know what's wrong and to do that we need to know what codes are in the PCM. Can you run by any parts store and have them scan the codes and post the codes here? When I see what's going on I will be able to give you the proper directions to get it repaired..
