JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Has been parked for 6 mos no battery
JA: Have you tested the battery with a voltmeter? And can you see if it's leaking or not?
Customer: New batt runs no comm with tcm

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

If there is no communication with the TCM and the trans doesn't change ratio then the trans controller is not awake. It may be missing a power or ground or it may have failed. You could have a wiring or TIPM issue, or the problem may be with the TCM itself. If the problem began after it was pared for six months there is a good chance you could have wiring corrosion or rodent damage.

Have fuses been checked?

Are there any warning lights other than the engine light?
