Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

There are many possible causes for a no start condition. If it started and died three times followed by the start being locked out then yes it could be the key or wireless control module. If it started and died and then locked the starter out then the powertrain control module isn't receiving a message that the key has been validated and it's ok to run.

Is that what you experienced?
If so have you tried a second key?
Does the keyless entry still work?
