2005 Jeep Liberty Sport 3.7L: Where is the fuel filter located and how do I change it?

Hi .

The liberty fuel filter is in the fuel tank attached to the fuel pump .

You will have remove the fuel pump to gain access.

If you are just doing this as a service then you can get the fuel filter at parts store .

If you are having fuel pressure issues then i suggest you replace the fuel filter and pump .

Access to the fuel pump is from the back of the car you will have to lift the carpet .

You will need to remove the hold down hooks on each side so you can remove the carpet then on the access door remove the

four 10mm nuts .under the hatch is the top of the fuel pump with the electrical connection and two fuel lines .

Remove these then remove the lock down ring . pull out the pump and filter .
