Good evening and welcome to JustAnswer!!

Evap leaks aren't bad to diagnose and repair, if you have the right tools.. For a large leak yes you can look over it and likely find a cracked hose but for a small leak you will need a smoke machine. The first thing I do is set it on air and see if there is infact a leak, if the ball drops on the bottom then there is no leak and I would suspect a bad LDP(Leak Detection Pump). But if it doesn't drop to the bottom then there is a leak then I would switch over to smoke and start the search. I would also check the fuel pump because I have had a leaking fuel pump seal cause a small leak..

Our smoke machine is the Miller 8404. Do you know if the shop you have it at has a smoke machine?
