I am having problems with my headlights on a 1999 jeep

Customer Question

I am having problems with my headlights on a 1999 jeep cherokee classic. They flicker on and off after about 5-10 minutes of use. I have replaced the headlight switch (the old one had visible heat damage). This worked for about a week and now it is doing it again. From what I have read, it sounds like it may be a grounding issue.

its possible BUT what does the headlamp switch connector look like?

heat damaged headlamp switches almost always damage the connector as well

not common to see grounds fail on the Cherokee if there was a ground issue you would lose the parking lights turn signals and headlamps, are you losing BOTH front and rear lights?
