Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!
If the clutches are failing but the compressor still turns ok and there are no a/c performance problems then I would suspect either multiple bad clutches or a poor power or ground to the coil. If you're installing used compressors it's very possible you've gotten multiple bad one; a used compressor would be a minimum of 12 years old at this point.
It's possible that a restriction in the system could be starving the compressor of refrigerant and in turn starving it of oil. You would most likely have a performance problem if that was the case, you should be able to identify a restriction by looking at pressures.
The other possibility would be a poor power or ground to the coil. Voltage drop/high resistance on the power or ground feed to the coil will cause decreased clamp load on the clutch plate and can allow it to slip. This could be a wiring or connection issue or the clutch relay.
