hi i'm bill
welcome to just answer
please remember I am NOT there in front of you! my answers are based on your information
are there any warning lamps on?
is this a new problem or something that has been happening.
have you owned the car since new or a recent purchase.
I ask these because the transmission in the caliber/patriot/compass is a CVT transmission and it has a VERY different feel to it you cannot feel it shift gears because there are none it uses a belt and different diameter pullies to change the gear ratio so it feels like it is "slipping" in all ranges.
this is NOT a Chrysler transmission and there are NO service parts available except fluid, filter, and trans pan gasket so if it is failing there is no other recourse than replace it
