2004 jeep grand cherokee laredo: Goes into 4x4..reverse..2wd

2004 jeep grand cherokee laredo 4.0 4x4 select trac.
Goes into 4x4 just fine, But getting it out is a problem, I have to go into reverse a few times before it goes to 2wd. transfer case fluid is full. Is there a sensor? or something that could be bad?

Hello, the most common thing we see causing problems like this is the front and rear tires being mismatched or worn unevenly. In order for the transfer case to shift properly all the tires have to be the same size and worn evenly, generally within 1-2/32" front to rear otherwise the transfer case binds up and won't come out ofXXXXX
