Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

Is the airbag light staying on while the engine is running?

Ok great. When the airbag light is on that means there is an active fault in the system, the problem is currently happening. It could be an open or shorted wire, a problem in one of the bags, the control module, clockspring, impact sensor, etc. There isn't a way to turn the light off. Once the problem is fixed the light will automatically go out, this is the only way. The first thing that will have to be done is read the codes stored in the airbag control module, this will have to be done with a scan tool. Then the problem can be diagnosed from there. This is something you'll want to have taken care of as soon as possible. If the airbag light is on the bags might not go off in an accident, or they could go off inadvertently.
