1995 Jeep Cherokee with manual transmission has become very hard to shift from one gear to another. Transmission fluid level is good. What explanations/causes for the difficult shifting that have just recently developed?
Hi,what does the pedal feel like?
Customer: replied 8 years ago.
The clutch pedal has always been a bit sloppy (even after an adjustment) and there has been no change there, just in the effort it is now taking to shift from one gear to the other.
Is it difficult to put into gear from a stand still or just shifting while running down the road?
Customer: replied 8 years ago.
More so from a standing start but it has also become more difficult to shift from one gear to the next when the vehicle is moving.
How is it to get in reverse? grind?
Customer: replied 8 years ago.
Very difficult to get into reverse and it does grind considerably.
With slop in the pedal says hydraulic failure, either the master or slave has failed and is letting fluid by the piston.Recommend that both be replaced. This is why it is difficult to shift, the clutch is not totally releasing.
