Good Afternoon, my name is ***** ***** ill be helping you, so sorry to hear about the issues her eon the Jaguar, i know how frustrating it can be to deal with oil leaks. Now just so im clear is the oil above the gasket as well on the sides and rear of the engine or is it just in the front?
if its just in front we are likely dealing with a front timing cover leak. whenever oil leaks are found you have to go to the highest and most forward spot since gravity and air flow when driving will drive the oil leak down and back so in your case i suspect itll be that front timing cover that is leaking but id also recommend we go ahead and do the oil pan gasket as well to be thorough.
yeah its a big job. there should be no need to do any work to the timing chain here but it would be a good idea to get it inspected while we are there.
i dont believe so but let me check. if i find it i will send them over
