Customer: The overhead console blows up when I try to turn on the center light.
JA: Just to clarify, what are the exact lights you're talking about?
Customer: There are three lights in the console, a left, a center, and a right, each with its own button
JA: What is the model/year of your Jaguar?
Customer: 2002 jaguar x-type. BTW, when the console is blown, the interior (ceiling, footwell) lights won't go off, and the sunroof doesn't work properly. I replaced the console, and everything was fine except that the center light (on the console) wouldn't come on. I tried to push the button several times, it wouldn't come on, and then the console blew up..
JA: Are you fixing your X-Type yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Let me give you some background. I replaced the starter motor myself. Stupidly, I didn't disconnect the grond on the battery, and while I was fiddling with getting the new starter into plkace, the starter groundwire touched something and I got some sparks. I don't kbnow if it is related, and yes. I'm fixing it myself.
JA: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: Only that the fuse #19 was blown, and I replaced it. It blew again when I installed the old console, but it didn't blow when I installed the replacement console.
