if no check engine fault are found , then we need a capable scanner to read tcm module faults , do yiu have onw

when you hook uop ur scanner does it pull up TCM module , or only ECM or ABS ,SRS systems ?

Ask Your Own Jaguar Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago

Jaguar Mechanic: Chad Farhat, ASE Certified Technician A6 - Electrical / Electronic systems A7 Heating / Air conditioning systems replied 4 months ago

ok , what is live data readings at idle at operating temperature

1- Fuel trims : I need long term and short term

2-Fuel status readings : when cold is it open loop? when operating temp is it switching to closed loop ?

3-Oxygens sensor readings

4-MAF sensor readings

get me that i can help you further on it

fuel trim bank 1 long 16% short - 5%
fuel trim bank 2 long 9% short -5%
o2 bank 1 down stream 0.16v
o2 bank 2 down stream0.26 v
mass air flow 1.4 v .01 lb/s in closed loop. seams to have developed a misfire no codes yet
Jaguar Mechanic: Chad Farhat, ASE Certified Technician A6 - Electrical / Electronic systems A7 Heating / Air conditioning systems replied 4 months ago

the bank 1 long at 16 is high ?if that + 16 ecm adding fuel , if - 16% ,taken away , was - or + ?

o2 sensors, was that reading fluctuating from .26 to 1 volts ,quickly or sitting still?

Ask Your Own Jaguar Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
o2 sensors fluctuating as in closed loop ,bank 1 long is16 +
Jaguar Mechanic: Chad Farhat, ASE Certified Technician A6 - Electrical / Electronic systems A7 Heating / Air conditioning systems replied 4 months ago

ok, we do have an issue on the bank + 16 , ecm is adding fuel ,But why , do we have too much Air OR Not enough fuel ?

computer's job is to Balance our A/F ratio ,up to 25 % adjustment , when we pass the 25 % the fault is set , you are correct that engine seeing a misfire and no fault set yet because we have not reach the 25 % limit we still at 16 +% , would you agree ?

so how about our fuel pressure ?

and a vacuum leak on bank 1 under intake or injectors ? if u get starting fluid ,and while running ,spray small squirts around the bank 1 areas ,does engine rpm surges up ?

on the to much air side

examples would be

1- intake gasket

2- vacuum hose

3- maf sensor

fuel side

1- leaking injector

2- fuel pressure regulator

3- fuel pump

what is the condition on the plugs and coils

how is related to the trans slipping and lurching
Jaguar Mechanic: Chad Farhat, ASE Certified Technician A6 - Electrical / Electronic systems A7 Heating / Air conditioning systems replied 4 months ago

I m thinking the misfire is effecting our shifting points .

If no faults in any modules and fluid clean and u have a capable scanner

has below TSB been performed on trans adaption

Harsh Transmission Shifts Repair Procedure

AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE

CONDITION SUMMARY:

Situation:

The customer may complain of harsh transmission shifting. The adaptive shift strategy can drift over time causing higher than normal clutch pressures.

NOTE:
The customer should be informed that after the adaption clearing procedure and re-configuration repair the transmission shift quality will improve over time as the transmission adapts to the customer's driving requirements.

Action:

Should a customer express the above concern, clear the adaptions, reconfigure the TCM, and reset the adaptions by following the Repair Procedure below.

Customer reply replied 4 months ago
I cannot do the trans adapation
Jaguar Mechanic: Chad Farhat, ASE Certified Technician A6 - Electrical / Electronic systems A7 Heating / Air conditioning systems replied 4 months ago

At this time from all the testing you done and it sound you covered everything and needed to troubleshoot it , Then I would try take it in to jag dealer and try there scanner or repair shop that has one that can .

unless the adaption not taking using your scanner then we have other issue but will be most likley tcm module issue .
