Hello and welcome to Just Answer

I'm assuming that this is the diesel engine as you've stated its a 2.0 ltr and not the 2.1 petrol

do you know where the oil leak is originating from?

as there only part of the oil circuit thats touched during the service is to replace the oil filter so if its leaking from here then hopefully its a case of removing the filter again ( it just uncrews) cleaning the mating faces and re fitting

if the oil leak is from the injection system then its not oil but diesel fuel? and this needs urgent attention to avoid a fire

as its not unknown for the steel pipes that feed the injectors to rupture / crack over time and this can rapidly go from a small weep to bursting

It's not diesel but petrol model. Mechanic has been trying to locate oil spray for some time. the oil spray only falls on driver side under bonnet.

yes hi eric here....hmmm the way I find oil leaks are to clean the affected area. spray detergent water to put vehicle ithe air via lift is ideal. clean off engine and monitor where origin of leak is. sometimes leak start because lack of maintenance oil not changed regularly. sometimes after 100k thousand miles things go bad...clean area and take pic.engine oil can look at a number of places. other leaks include power steering antifreeze transmission
