hi my name is ***** ***** own a 2004 xj8 jaguar..occacional i get a DSC ENGINE FAULT ALARM..Can you please tell me what it means ?
JA: Have you checked the fuses? Is your battery fully charged?
Customer: I have not check fuses but battery is fully charge
JA: Are you fixing your XJ8 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: yes I'm a mechanic but I have not done anything yet
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

ir looses power and check engine light is on all the time

OK this could be caused by a few different issues. We may have a problem with the electronic throttle system causing these warnings and the loss of power. It could also be another sensor or possibly a wiring fault. We will need to have the vehicle scanned for the stored fault codes. A Jag factory tool is recommended but we can try using a generic OBD II scan tool available at your local parts store to see if we can retrieve the fault codes. It may read a P0121 or P2135. Let me know.
