JA: Are you fixing your XK8 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: yes I am I replacedthe hydraulic hoses fro the roof
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: from the front of the windshield to the pump
JA: Have you checked the fluids recently?
Customer: roof closes now but doesn not open back. i have to open it manually yes its fresh new fluid

I hear winning from the pump. fluid level isn't low... it is not unlatching but the rear windows are going down though

OK please check the connections to those two control vales on the pump. Sometimes the wiring can break when that pump is removed off the bracket to change the lines. Since the motor does run then the top down relay and fuse should be good. Since the top goes up without any issues the lines should not be reversed. Let me know.

still can't get the top to open. all the wiring at the pump is correct. it seem that it is not unlatching. it tries to unlatch then it latches and locks as if you were to be closing it.

Manually open the top. Then disconnect the battery for about 30 minutes. Reconnect it and see if the top will reset.
