Customer Question

Good lord...2009 Jaguar XF Supercharged...won't start. I THINK it's fuel pump...but was advised to check fuse & relay first. I found the fuse (in the trunk compartment - looks fine --which is the relay?
JA: How many miles are on the car? Has the car been starting normally?
Customer: 80,000 and it's been running perfectly
JA: Are you fixing your 80 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: nothing so far other than checking the VIN sorry - checking the fuse
JA: What is the make/model of your car?
Customer: 2009 Jaguar XF Supercharged
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: I think that ab out does it

Lets go right to the fuel pump connector under the passenger rear seat. Under the large round cover is the top of the pump. The two middle thick wires are the power and ground wires. We can check for voltage with a digital multimeter to check the circuit. Let me know.

Is there a special trick to remove the backseat? And...where is the fuel pump relay? You don't think I should check those first?

Sorry for the delay. The rear seat cushion can be tricky but you need to move the black locking levers then pop up the rear seat cushion. There are two levers on each side. If we have power on fuse #25 (25 amp) in the rear fuse box then the relay is good. If no power then check relay #2 in that fuse box.
