2003 s type 2.5 manual. warning light on, but car drives no

Customer Question

2003 s type 2.5 manual. warning light on, but car drives no problem, 29mpg extra urban. BUT the red light comes on and restricted performance, car still ok but particularly in lower gears the car judders when acc pedal pressed too far. When car is at 30 mph for example and I depress clutch and press acc pedal the revs do not come up. After a short time the red light and rp go out and the car is ok. red light and rp only come on at low speeds.

Hi .

When your shop did the diagnoses did they say if you had any malfunction codes ?

As when the warning light comes on then you may have some stored malfunction codes .

From the codes we will then know what is causing you this issue .

they said numerous including throttle control ,or linkage can't remember which
Expert:  Greg replied 1 year ago.

Okay looks like you have the typical Jag issue of a bad throttle body ?? But need the codes to be sure .

It sound like it could be this from what i have just read from your question .

APP accelerator pedal sensor malfunction .or the Throttle body malfunction .

See if you can get me the codes to confirm this for you .

In the mean time disconnect the connection on the accelerator pedal and check and clean the connections with contact cleaner .

also do the same to the throttle body connections and check the wiring harness for damaged .

Still need additional information then please get back to me with the reply button, and not the poor or bad service, this way i can get back to you or suggest another expert if needed.
