My 2005 XJ8 gear shift stopped working in Reverse. I cannot move the gear shift. I cannot get the gear shift to move. The car will not start. Any ideas what the problem is ?

We most likely have loose shifter cable bolts. There are two 8mm bolts holding the cable to the transmission. One or both may be loose or have fallen out. Should be a simple fix.
