Be sure you have the correct Thermostat & that the Thermostat is installed correctly

Thermostat can be inadvertantly installed upside down
Check Radiator Cap also, as that can cause back pressure into the tank
IF there were no Overheating or Tank overflow issues before, then it sounds like the Thermostat.
IF there were issues prior, then you need to have the Engine Gas & Pressure Tested by a "Reputable" Radiator Shop to see if there is Internal Pressure that forces the Coolant out.
