The warning light could be either. Both the transmission and engine control module can put the car into limp home. While the light is on the code should be able to be read. A scan tool that can read both ECM and TCM will need to be used. Occasionally the throttle body can be the fault and not flag a fault but will give an error when read with the Jaguar scan tool.

As far as the belt noise, it may have a failing water pump, alternator or A/C compressor causing excessive drag on the belt. There is also a possibility of an incorrect belt, slightly to long. The belt noise should be addressed by the mechanic that did the engine tensioners. Colin

As far as engine light amber, it is still on after driving it for 2 days back and forth to work 1 mile. There has been no other message just the amber engine light???

Also the belt noise last for about 2-3 minutes once the car warms up I guess then it stops, it seems to be only in the am or after the car sat for a long time, once it warms up it goes away and everything sounds good, even if i park in neutral and rev the engine no sounds from the belt, but in the am when you start it it's loud and doesn't sound smooth in a sense????

The check engine light is on because there is a fault stored. It will let a technician know what is wrong. With the code it will become apparent if it is a transmission fault or is a engine fault. The belt should not ever make noise. Noise is caused by slippage. The belt needs to go to the person that did the engine work. They will also be able to read the code and tell you what it is and if it is part of the engine or the transmission. Colin
