Is the engine reving up then banging into gear when accelerating from a stop or engaging drive?
Ok thanks for the additional info. Based on this I suspect we have a problem with the electronic throttle system specifically the electronic throttle unit. This unit is costly and it is only replaced as an assembly. We will need to have a diagnosis done with a Jag factory tool to be sure or we can use a generic OBD II tool only when the warning comes on.
