Based on your description it sounds like a fault with the electronic throttle assembly. There are two position sensors on this throttle that when they fail cause those warnings and symptoms. There are no serviceable parts on the throttle so the entire assembly needs to be replaced. On some vehicles there was an issue with the throttle position sensor connector pins causing this but that was VIN specific. The connector pin issue was for most 1999-2001 vehicles VIN 031303-A22860. The wiring repair is not that costly but if the throttle needs to be replaced it is expensive for the part. I recommend coventrywest.com, jagbits.com, welshent.com, jaguarpartscenter.com, britishparts.com or jaggraveyard.com as they all specialize in discounted Jag parts. Also bba-reman.com has rebuilt units. To be sure we will need the stored fault codes.
