Customer: I have a 2004 Jaguar. I have an oil leak coming form the gasquet . There is a little oil I can see that has seeped past the gasquet. The dealership wants $ 750 for the repair so at this time I am saving up the money. I have been told possibly that STP could help. If I keep constant view of the oil levels to be okay am I harming my enigine? Is there a cheaper repair option?

Hello and welcome to justanswer.com

Sounds like you have an oil pan gasket leaking. The gasket is metal with rubber seals that do wear out. An oil additive will not help this as you just need to make sure the oil level if full. As far as the cost this does seem high if infact the oil pan gasket is the part that needs to be replaced. The gasket is about $40.00 and the labor to replace it is about 5 hours.
