Unfortunately I have run into this problem myself when driving these vehicles. What I suggest is have them measure the clearance and distance between the two pedals. The one measurement we do is the brake height compared to the accelerator pedal height. Then the distance between the edges of the brake and accel pedals to see if there is a problem. I have never found one to be off but it still should be checked.
If the pedal clearance is good then there really is nothing that can be done. You should also drive another vehicle on the dealer's lot to make sure you have the same issue.
