I am a GP. I have worked in the Republic of Ireland past 18

Customer Question

Hi I am a GP. I have worked in the Republic of Ireland for the past 18 years. In 2008 I signed a GMS contract which was subsequently reduced in value by FEMPI. However, I live in the North of Ireland and am thus a UK citizen ( if I choose). I have been told that FEMPI should not have been applied to me because of this. I have lived in the UK for the total duration of my contract. Does this claim have any validity ?
