Can you be charged if you're the passenger in a hit and run in Ireland? The driver bumped into the front of a car and drove off because the owner of the car was aggressive
No you can't be convicted of an offence as you were not the person in charge of the vehicle. You should however advise the driver to report the matter to the gardai as soon as possible as is a requirement under Section 106 of the Road Traffic Act 1961
