I sell taco seasoning packets and chili(mild, medium, hot)

Customer Question

I sell taco seasoning packets and chili(mild, medium, hot) seasoning packets and them all of them in low sodium versions. All told there are 8 recipes. Do I patent them?
JA: What's the invention's purpose?
Customer: I have UPC coded.
JA: Have you talked to a local attorney? Has anything been filed in court?
Customer: No.
JA: Anything else you want the lawyer to know before I connect you?
Customer: Just that we are a LLC with a tax number, I guess.

I think it would be a good idea to do a patent search and consider a patent. A patent search aims to ensure your recipe is not possibly too similar to another company's recipe that they might claim it was stolen and the patent filing would aim to protect you from another party seeking to steal your recipe.
