The short answer is "No" in my experience, because this requires patent knowledge as well as strategy and consideration of which invention to elect, what continuation application to file if any, and whether (and how) to simply argue against the office action requiring the election. there are just too many possible pitfalls, many of which are fatal or irreversible...you might get by in some manner but patents are only as good as they are written etc. and in my experience even the smartest person is never capable of writing a great patent and navigating the patent process optimally...they may avoid the pitfalls by luck and get a patent, but that patent will be weaker and less valuable than if a patent attorney had prepared it.
