How do I separate an engine from the generator of a 1969 sa200 welding machine?

The armature is attached to the flywheel with a drive plate. Accessed through hole in engine bell housing or through the starter hole, after removal of the starter. With drive plate bolts removed, the outer bell hosing bolts are removed and generator should separate from engine.

Drive disc should have four bolts that have to be removed.

I tried to do what you told me but there arent a y screws through the side where the starter is.

If you can't get at the plate drive bolts, you can remove the center nut on the end of the armature, and disassemble the outer housing, leaving the armature hanging, then with outer housing off, remove the drive bolts.
