i think u r not getting my que. right
i have never been to US before and currently i m in canada only i will be going to US on 10 jan
Immigration Lawyer: Guillermo Senmartin, Immigration Attorney replied 7 months ago

And when was the last time that you came to the U.S.? How long did you stay? What date did you last leave the U.S.?

Ask Your Own Immigration Law Question
Customer reply replied 7 months ago
Sir i am telling this again I have never been to U.S before
Immigration Lawyer: Guillermo Senmartin, Immigration Attorney replied 7 months ago

Ok. Now I understand. You don't need your Canadian PR to enter the U.S., but you might need to prove that you have strong ties to Canada or outside of the U.S. So the answer to your question is that the Canadian PR is not required, but it can help to show that you have strong ties to Canada. You can use other things to show that like proof of a good job, proof of home ownership, etc.

Let me know if you need anything else, but please do not forget that positive rating. Thank you!

I'm a 30 yo Indian living in Canada since 2013 and have a 10
I'm a 30 yo Ind***** *****ving in Canada since 2013 and have a 10 yr visitor visa to the US expiring 2019 and a pending greencard application (through my dad who's a citizen since 2015). So far, I've visited the US over 50 times (as I live right on the border and cross over often by land for shopping/visiting places across the border) without any problems and only been denied once (in 2016) when I was trying to visit dad on the opposite coast for 3+ months post my graduation carrying all my stuff with me as I hadn't renewed my lease and had no return ticket, the reason being I wanted to fly home to India for another few months after my US trip before starting a job life in Canada. However, last year, I got a call centre job (my first in Canada) and a rented apartment, and been crossing over to the US several times without issues again.I quit this job in October 2017 to fly back to India for 2-3 months to visit family, attend my nephew's first bday and a few weddings, etc. and later take care of my mom post her hysterectomy surgery that had to be done urgently 2 weeks ago. We were supposed to fly back together in January end to the US to visit my dad after which I would fly back to Canada alone in 3-4 weeks time. I was already skeptical about US immigration denying me entry due to being jobless again and parents being citizen/GC holders in the US but thought that Canadian lease papers, bank statements, recently-received Canadian PR card and accompanying a slightly-handicapped mom would support my case... but now, I have this problem:My apartment lease is dated Apr 1, 2017-Mar 31, 2018.If I flew to the US as planned in Jan, I would be flying to Canada in Feb and still be able to show that my lease is un-expired. However, if I fly to the US in mid-March now and show an intent to return to Canada sometime in April, the officers would have no reason to believe my lease has renewed. All I'll have is a return ticket and Canadian bank statements besides this lease. Will this lease still count as proof of residence even if I'm going to pay month-to-month after the first 12 months? My lease agreement states “If neither Tenant nor Landlord delivers notice of termination of the other, then upon the expiration of the term, the Tenant shall become a monthly tenant only. As a month to month tenant, Tenant agreed to vacate premises upon receiving 60 days written notice from the Landlord.” I'll be paying March rent to my landlord by bank transfer next week.I have ZERO intentions to stay back in the US. It's just that it's impossible to visit my dad for a longer period if I'm working, so this seems like the perfect time to visit him for a month.a) What are my chances of rejection? b) Is there something I can do to help my case? c) Would asking my landlord for another 6 month lease instead of going month-to-month help show PROOF OF RESIDENCE or will this lease be enough? … read more
