ForCustomer In relation to your answer to my previous question, my other question is; What category does my son have? Is it F2A or F2B?
Response 1: It is actually, F2B since he is now 21 years of age or older. Currently, under that Category, priority date of January 1, 2002 is being processed.
Another question is; I am now scheduled for citizenship interview on Sept. 6, 2012, but because of your answer to my previous question, I had it postpone indefinitely until my son arrives. My question now is; Do I have to re-apply for naturalization and pay another fee for this application?
Response 2: This question has been answered in another post. Here it is once more:
Question: I already applied for naturalization and I am now scheduled for interview, but because of your answer to my first question I have to postpone the interview indefintely until my son arrives.
Response 1: It is strongly suggested that you not postpone your Naturalization Interview. As I stated previously, the processing times for immigrant visas for different preference categories always change and a new change may result in processing of visa faster under (FI) than (F2B).
Do I have to re-apply and pay another fee for my naturalization application?
Response 2: Yes, if you postpone your Interview indefinitely, your application would be rejected and you would start all over again and pay another fee for the application and fingerprinting. Again, it is STRONGLY SUGGESTED that you DO NOT do this, that you DO NOT POSTPONE your Naturalization Interview because of the current processing times for immigrant visas under (F1) and (F2B) as these times can change to the advantage of category (F1), which your son would be under after you become a U.S. Citizen.
