I've checked fuses and was told to try disconnecting battery for a little bit

Doesn't work when I try using the driver controls either. But all other windows and locks work

First thing I would like you to do is check the wiring from the driver's door to the body as this door opens and closes the most there is a chance those wires flex and break inside that loom. You will have to remove the driver's small lower kick panel under the dash and disconnect the connector going to the door , then pull the wire harness out towards the door. Then open up the wire covering so you can inspect all those wires inside carefully. If you find broken ones they need to be repaired. I can walk you through repairing them if needed.
