Customer Question

I replaced a blown light bulb on my Hyundai Sonata (2011). Alter replacing the worn out bulb, it will not light up. I suspect it may be a blown fuse.

Mechanic's Assistant: Do all the fuses have the correct amperage for the circuits they're in?

Yes, as I observed on the panel on the engine compartment.

Mechanic's Assistant: What year is your Sonata?

2011

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Sonata yourself? What have you tried so far?

I replaced the blown bulb, turned on the lights and no light emission from the new bult. bulb...

Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

That's it.

Which side headlight is out?
Also, is it the low beam or high beam light?

What steps should I take to review the source(s) of my problem?
Hyundai Mechanic: Mike V., Hyundai Technician replied 7 months ago

The car has a headling control module in it that could be causing the issue. If you look in the fuse box inside the car there are or should be 4 fuses labeled IPS1, IPS2 IPS4, and IPS5.

Thes all work the headlights depending on which headlight is causing the problem. Check them first to make sure none is blown. If these are all good, then you either have a wiring problem or a problem with the computer module. If you have a test light we can test the connectors at the bulb and check for a broken wire.

Sorry, I can't make a call at this time.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.
