02 Santa Fe ...ac fuse keeps blowing

Mechanic's Assistant: Do all the fuses have the correct amperage for the circuits they're in?

Yeah

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Santa Fe yourself? What have you tried so far?

Yes...I unplugged the pressure switch and the fuse won't blow with it unplugged

Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

Was working fine yesterday

Hello I will help,

With the pressure switch unplugged the clutch relay will not close and the fuse stays intact. Try unplugging the compressor and leaving the switch connected. If the fuse does not blow the clutch coil is shorted and you will need to replace the compressor.

Please let me know what questions you have about this, if no further questions please complete the rating

Thanks

The fuse still blows with the switch plugged in and the compressor unplugged
Hyundai Mechanic: George H., Hyundai Technician replied 11 months ago

Then you have a short in the wire between the relay and the compressor or the diode is shorted.m Try unplugging the compressor and pulling the diode (note which way it points!) From the fuse block and see if the fuse still blows.

Do you see the diode in the underhood fuse block? It has an arrow on it. Keep it that direction
