Key fob is bad and I need to disable the security system as

Customer Question

Key fob is bad and I need to disable the security system as the key does not. Hyundai Elantra 2004
JA: Have you checked the fob's battery?
Customer: Yes, the fob is bad as it went through the washer and dryer
JA: Are you fixing your Elantra yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes, I disconnected the battery for a while but alarm goes off when reconnected. The key does not disable it as it should.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: I just need to temporarily disable until I can get it to a shop

sorry for the delay.............
IF you only have ONE Remote (fob) & it is not working, then you will need use of Dealer Scan Tool to Start vehicle, unless there was a 4 digit Key Code Programmed into the Vehicle Computer prior to your ownership.
Then the Key would be turned a certain number of times to enable Start
You can only get that from Dealer
Otherwise you may want to check with Local Hyundai Dealer to see if they can come to you to Start Vehicle Via Dealer Scan Tool
IF not, Vehicle will have to be towed
Let me know if you need further
