My coworker's car is a 2013 Hyundai Elantra, Well thus far

Customer Question

My coworker's car is a 2013 Hyundai Elantra
JA: Are you fixing your Elantra yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Well thus far I've just inspected it. When the brake pedal is depressed, the brake lights on the back won't turn on. However, when he turns his headlights on, they light up dimly like they're supposed to. He thinks it might be a fuse but isn't sure.
JA: Have you checked the fuses? Have you checked the bulbs?
Customer: He has just one blown bulb that blew today. I'll get him to check over his fuses.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: That's about it

The most likely cause of the brake lights not working would be a bad brake pedal position switch (also known as the brake light switch). Do you have a mutltimeter to do some electrical testing?

No I don't. He has a warranty on the vehicle and he said he'd take it in to get it fixed.

It's most likely either the switch is bad or the wire that runs from the switch to the fuse box is rubbed through. About 6 inches above the switch the harness rubs on a bracket.
