We replaced the head gasket and broke the ignition coil

we replaced the head gasket and broke the ignition coil ground wire. after replacing the ground wire the motor has no spark. any thoughts 2003 2.4l
JA: Is this your first time dealing with this issue? What size is your engine?
Customer: 2.4 litter
JA: What is the model of your '03 Hyundai?
Customer: sorry santa fe 5 dr
JA: Are you fixing your Santa Fe yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: myself, it ran fine before replacing the head gasket. had low compression in number 3 clylinder. replaced the timing belt also
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: maybe enlighten him or her I connected the ground wire directly to the motor. the ground wire had a resistor(read 250v) on the end of it originally. I cut it off because it broke. wondering if that fried something also?

The ground had a resistor? And where did this ground go originally?

Here is a picture of the ground for the ignition coils. It should be connected to the body.

There should not be a resistor on the ground G01. Reroute to the location pictured. It could be that the wire that broke was not a ground wire.
