Yellow light is on. Off-brand shop says it is the ABS/HUB

Customer Question

Yellow light is on. Off-brand shop says it is the ABS/HUB BEARING. what would cause this on a 2009 Hyundai Sante Fe Limited that has had all service done by the book? Current mileage 102,360.

Hi. The abs hub bearing will cause the yellow light to be on because when they are faulty, they are not sending a valid abs signal to the control module. This is a common concern for the Sante Fe.

What would cause the abs hub to become faulty when all recommended services have been performed?
Expert:  EricFromCT replied 9 months ago.

It is just a sealed bearing. Over time the bearing can wear. It really has nothing to do with any scheduled maintenance. As there is no maintenance that can be performed on the hub assembly. It is unfortunately just a wear item.

Questions answered. DIdn't realize the bearing could wear if oiled/serviced on manufacturer schedule. Pleased with assistance....

Please rate the assistance by clicking on the 5 star rating. And just to clarify, the bearing is non-servicable and can not be oiled or lubed. Thank you.
