Customer Question

Our 2006 hyundai accent just quit on day while driving. we looked up and thought we would start with fuel filter! where is it located
JA: Has the vehicle turned into a gas hog? And how does it start -- same as usual?
Customer: No! It wont start but has power>
JA: Are you fixing your Accent yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Was going to try myself. Starting with fuel filter>\ The original problem started while i was driving home and the car just died
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: What could it be, would it do this with timing belt? What damage could be done. I pulled over right away and had it towed.

It's not a fuel filter issue, but here are some things for you to check.

The problem can be a loss of spark or fuel. You can check for
spark at the plugs with a spark tester.
You can check fuel pressure with a gauge and both of these tools
should be available to you at your
local parts store for rent or purchase.
You need to check for any stored codes in the computer with a
code reader or a scan tool.
The code reader only gives the codes and definitions, where the
scan tool gives you all
the needed data to diagnose the codes.

Thanks, Ron
