Customer Question

I have a 2009 Sonata with an automatic transmission and the top of the shifter knob cracked. I want to replace it with an aftermarket one, but don't know how to remove the OEM one.
JA: How many miles are on the car? Is it the original transmission?
Customer: 70,000 and yes, it's all original except for the stereo.
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes. I haven't tried anything yet.
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: nope, just looking to see how it comes off.

Hello I will help,

Look that over and let me know how I can help. It takes quite a bit of force to remove the knob pulling up until you can pry out the snap ring. I do it from the passenger side with the seat all the way back so I can kneel on the floor.
