Customer Question

In my 2007 Azera, over the last couple of years, the Infinity M465 radio/CD player/tape player has developed a static sound on the lower end of the AM band (560, 650, 670 AM). The middle and upper stations come in clearly. Is there a filter or noise suppressor that has gone bad?
JA: Have you checked the fuses?
Customer: The radio still operates but those stations on the "lower" end of the AM band are no longer clearly heard.
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Gone to a few radio repair shops and was told that neither work on car radios. Sent an email to Infinity and another to Hyundai a year or so ago and never got a reply.
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: No.

There is an antenna amplifier under the rear deck by the rear windshield, assuming the wiring is alright I would bet that is your issue.
