Put key in the ignition of a 2012 Hyundai Sonata - dash

Customer Question

Put key in the ignition of a 2012 Hyundai Sonata - dash lights started blinking, horn started honking in a pattern of honks. Pulled the battery cables off because I had to get to work & drove another vehicle. Now the brake pedal is hard, headlights and tail lights flash in a pattern and the car won't turn over even though battery hooked up and says its fully charged.

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

It sounds as if the alarm is going off. It may just need to be disarmed, but there may also be a fob issue or electrical problem on the vehicle that is preventing it from disarming.

If you press the unlock button on the key fob does that engage anything?

If not, does it unlock the doors or is there no response?

Customer: replied 2 years ago.
the key fob works the locks & truck wit no issue. We had to eplace the fob, it's not original.

Does it have an aftermarket alarm, or is it possible there is an alarm from a previous owner you were unaware of?
