Am I undersnind this correctly, to repair the P2422 code for "Canister vent valve stuck open" I need to replace the entire canister assembly because the vent solenoid is not avlailable separately?

Yes you need to replace the complete unit .
This is also a dealer part so i suggest you get it at the dealers .
This part is located near the fuel tank under the car .
The problem with this is a known issue and fuel gets into the system and
damages the unit .
