Hyundai Elantra Elantra: How do you depress the caliper piston

Customer Question

How do you depress the caliper piston on rear brakes on a 2002 Hyundai Elantra GT?

To compress the rear caliper piston on this vehicle will require the use of a special tool: Caliper Adjuster Tool. You can usually rent this tool from most local big-chain part stores. This tool allows you to "turn-and-push" the piston at the same time. The "nibs" of the tool fit into the "grooves" on the face of the piston. You then tiurn and push the tool, and the piston will seat. CLICK HERE for an image of the tool installed on the caliper.
