Hyundai Santa Fe: gas pump shuts off repeatedly while filling

gas pump shuts off repeatedly while filling up. What can be done? 2001 Santa Fe 6 cyl. also need schematics. Wil you provide troubleshooting steps?

Hello I will help you with your question,
The reason the pump shuts off is the air in the tank that is being displaced by the fuel cannot escape through its normal route and is coming up the fill tube shutting the pump off.
Look in front of the fuel tank and see the rectangular black box mounted to the bottom of the vehicle. Remove the large hose from the charcoal canister (box) and see if there is loose charcoal inside. If there is replace the canister and blow the lines clear of the charcoal.
