2007 Santa Fe: the fuel level sensor..back seat..gas tank

I have a 2007 Santa Fe and the fuel level sensor needs to be replaced. Can you tell me if the sensor is located in the back seat or gas tank?

I could not open PDF for instructions. Is it located ounder the seat or do you have drop tank?

Service and Repair



  1. Preparation
  1. Remove the 2nd seat.


Open the carpet for fuel pump (A). SCMF16135L


Remove the service cover for fuel pump (A).


  1. Disconnect the fuel pump connector (A).
  2. Start the engine and wait until fuel in fuel line is exhausted.
  3. After engine stops, turn the ignition switch off.








  1. Disconnect the fuel tank pressure sensor connector (A).
  2. Disconnect the fuel feed quick-connector (B) and the vacuum tube quick-connector (C).
  3. Unfasten the fuel pump plate cover (D) and disconnect the suction tube at the bottom of the fuel pump.










  1. Remove the fuel pump from the fuel tank.


  1. Install the fuel pump in according to the reverse order of "REMOVAL" procedure.
