Partly HVAC question ... partly warranty question. My Friedrich ductless mini-split stopped working (lights go on, no cool or fan). I unplugged for a couple of hours. It did not help. LED indicators on remote look normal, except on Surge setting I get "Po" message which I think may be PCB problem(?).Anyway I've had unit 2.5 years, only been installed 1.5 years. I called Friedrich and they said "We can tell from serial # that this unit was already 10 years old when appliance store sold it to you. We don't have to honor the 5-year parts warranty because it's now a 13-year-old unit and that's too old." So ... 2 questions: 1. Does it sound like my unit is fried and good look finding a PCB board that old? 2. Can the company void the warranty that way?

Contractor's Assistant: Do you know the model of your Friedrich AC unit? When did you last replace the air filter?

The model# ***** the exterior unit is MR09C1J. I have not replaced filters but I cleaned them last week.

Contractor's Assistant: How long has this been going on with your Friedrich fan? What have you tried so far?

What I said above. It stopped working a little over a week ago. I woke up one morning and it was not producing air or coolness. My first move was to change batteries in remote. My second move was to unplug unit and leave it unplugged 2-3 hours. Then I called Friedrich. They won't discuss with me because I am not a technician. They said unplug it. I told them I had. They asked for model and serial # and then they said never mind having a technician call us, we won't help.

Contractor's Assistant: Is there anything else the HVAC Tech should know before I connect you? Rest assured that they'll be able to help you.

Only that it has not been in use that long. It is AC only. It was installed fall of 2020. So it was used maybe 3 months in 2020, 6 months in 2021, and 3 months in 2022.
