Switching a Lennox icomfort thermostat to a Honeywell Lyric. I'm trying to figure out which wire the i+ and i- (Lennox) connect to on the Honeywell

These are two total different types of thermostats.

The iComfort is a communicating thermostat Two terminals provide 24 volts and the other two are data transfer terminals.

The Lyric is considered a conventional thermostat where each terminal controls a specific component.(R is power, G controls blower,W controls heat, Y controls AC Compressor , etc)

While it may be possible, it is not recommended to replace the communicating with a conventional as you will lose some of the efficiency and functions.

However if you are determined to do so, give me model on your indoor and outdoor units and I can verify if it is possible to use the conventional. Note you will need at least 6 wires between units to do this. Let me know and we can go from here.

Hmmmm..... what type of thermostat should I be thinking about to replace the lennox then? The Lennox was installed 3.5 years ago by the previous home owners, and went black on me yesterday.

The only thing recommended for your system is the iComfort.

If your problem is simply that thermostat is blank, the issue may not actually be a bad thermostat.

If screen is blank we have lost power to the thermostat.

Check breaker to indoor unit. Then

Look at indoor unit for a float switch in drain and if you have one lift it to see if we get power to thermostat. If that drain gets partially clogged the float will kill power to outdoor unit so it does not keep making water and ruin ceiling carpet or floor. As water seeps out, it will reset and allow unit to come back on and run until water backs up again.

Then look in indoor unit on control board for a small 3 or 5 amp car fuse that might be blown.

I think there is power to the thermostat. When i remove it from it's frame on the wall, and then plug it back in, I get 3 dots across the screen, but then nothing.I don't have a drain float.I looked on the control board and there is a 3 amp fuse, but not a car style one, it's not blown.Next steps?
